Catfish biting

Went out about a week ago and caught a good 2 pounder from the bank, using a 1 ounce weight, #5 circle hook and yeh monn crawfish bait.

The “No Fishing” signs have been replaced at the kayak launch point at Calaveras Lake. Fishing is prohibited in and to the south of the launch area.

July 8th Calaveras lake. One complaint

The water at the wall was boiling with reds. We hauled in our share on silver spoons. The reds came and went so we had to be patient and observant. Took a couple nice cats too. Saturday the 21st

Went out Saturday morning till noon. The wall was slow. We moved from spot to spot trying to find some cats. We ended up in the 181 cove around 11:00. Found a big school or shad. Lots of carp moving around. We threw our rattle traps. Hooked up a couple of nice channel cats that hit out lures. We are planning an overnight trip soon. Will post from the lake. TMB

Young Wrangler Program
